Anna Fox is an agoraphobic child psychologist who spends her days rewatching old noir films and spying on her Harlem neighbors. When the Russell family moves in across the street, Anna witnesses something terrible through her window—but her heavy prescription drug use and alcohol intake make everyone doubt her story.

Paying homage to classic Hitchcockian cinema, Finn uses Anna’s unreliability and isolation to deliver a multi-layered twist that disproves both her assumptions and the reader's.
